Hi *,

As the linux x86 build of the 3.4beta2 fails to start on many systems,
but the x86_64 ones seem to work fine I wonder whether it is a problem
with the build-environment of with the code.

So please: What is the system the beta builds were compiled on?

Do the x86 builds work on /any/ system != the buildmachine? Does it
start on the buildhost at all?
If so: what are other builds lacking?

It fails to start with:
/opt/libreoffice/program/oosplash.bin: symbol lookup error:
/opt/libreoffice/program/oosplash.bin: undefined symbol:
sal_detail_initialize, version PRIVATE_1.1

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=36275

affected Distros (at least)
* Mandriva 2010.2
* Debian Lenny
* Ubuntu 10.4
* Ubuntu 10.10
* Fedora 14
* Fedora 15
* Puppy (not sure what version, wasn't mentioned)

There is no point in releaseing beta after beta when you cannot run it.
For beta1 - OK; shit happens. But beta1 should have taught the lesson
to do minimal sanity checks before releasing the builds/putting them
on the mirror/announcing them.
beta2: OK, might have been special distros only.
beta3: Sorry, no mercy, no understanding why this happens yet again.

ciao
Christian
