Hi Christina,
yes, those have been used to measure startup times, mostly (by
getting wallclock values logged out).
rtl/logfile.hxx has a rather good description of this, also see

(and http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/RTLLog2ODF for some
analysis tool)
