[Libreoffice] How to send a 'git diff' file?

Hello all,

First off, I very much hope this effort is successful in reducing barriers
to dev participation and in accelerating development.

I tried to send a patch earlier but it was rejected because my email was too
long.  Should I be submitting patches some other way?  Should I be making
changes in much smaller chunks?

I was trying to pick a couple of items off the 'easy tasks' list so nothing
exciting.
