This would break using Alt+Tab to switch between documents, and there is no internal-to-application tab-switching standard key. Some use Ctrl+Tab, some others use whatever they want. Also, the proposal didn't include a way to detach tabs. This would break the ability to place documents side by side. This is particularly useful in dual-screen workstations.
