* Present: Cor, Heiko, Ibrahim, Jay, Kendy, Octavio, Stuart

* Pending Action Items:

+ Default document view for Writer, single page rather than automatic
      https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=88001
+ Stuart: Change the default to single page
+ Jay/Stuart: Change the tooltip to "Multipage view" or "Multiple page view"
[https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=88001#c5 - would be great to get that to
gerrit]
AI: Stuart -- figure it out and get it posted.
+ Jay: Double check if we can change 'Spelling' to 'Spelling and Grammar'
      https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=87648
+ Jay: Send a mail to documentation@global.libreoffice.org with the wiki page that collects
changes in menus
+ Kendy: Collecting of the user information should be incremental, somewhere in the user's
profile
+ Ahmed: Push the new Sifr icons he's done recently
+ Kendy: Talk to Milos wrt. https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=48622
    + Alex: Gnome 2.20-style 'a' icons & Gnome 3-style text line icons
+ Samuel: Formulas and Navigator should open in the sidebar, not as a special window
      https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=85897
+ Is that issue for the Navigator too (I dont read it from the issue)
and in Writer the choice anycase was to allow opening separate too. (Cor, after
discussion on 20150128)
+ the bug report only discusses the separate formulas sidebar in calc (Jay)

* Easy Hacks to be filed:

+ Kendy: The Window's closing button should indeed close the window, not dock the sidebar
      https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=87217
+ Kendy: Do / find someone / easy-hack-ize automatic opening of the Track changes toolbar
      when there are tracked changes
+ Kendy: Check how hard it is to make sidebar honor the icon size setting
+ Kendy: Easy Hack-ize fixing of uno commands that need to be duplicated in Draw and Impress
        + https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=84258#c2
+ Kendy: Create Easy Hack for the Hi-contrast Sifr
+ Kendy: Adding 1.15 to the drop down list - https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=85949
+ Kendy: Research what is needed to do to only disable (not hide) the formula bar in Calc when
Chart component
      is activated
+ Kendy: Tell Jay how to fiddle with the default position of toolbars (so that he can tweak the
Chart's toolbars)
+ Kendy: Only activate image toolbar when an image is selected -
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=87362
+ Adolfo: Create easy hacks for the options Design decided to drop since 2012:
      https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Design/Whiteboards/Options/Global
+ Kendy: Should border around an image have no padding by default
      https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=87360

* GSoC tasks to be filed:

+ Jay: add a Styles usability improvements section + list the various things to implement to
GSoC-next ideas
        + https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Development/GSoC/GenialIdeas
[styles previews in the sidebar etc.]
+ Ahmed, Jay: Brainstorm about some nice / more styles for Calc
          https://redmine.documentfoundation.org/boards/1/topics/493
[longer term - maybe better to add to the GSoC Styles task?]
+ Jay: Impress also needs more default object styles (only 2 are available)
+ Kendy: On-demand / programmatic colorization of the Sifr icons

* Code to push to 4.4

    + done now

* UI changes integrated the last week:

+ Master view toolbar docked (Jay)
+ Three contextual toolbars hidden in impress (Jay)
+ Rearrange Impress's drawing toolbar (Jay)
+ Improved Sifr, Tango, Oxygen icons (Jay)

* Change tracking sidebar proposal (Heiko)

+ published, got a couple of comments
+ talked to Jay, got some improvements, they are on its way
+ protect document, compare document (Jay)
+ split button (button with the listbox) - yes or no? (Heiko / Jay)
+ technically it is possible to change to that, or not, let's decide this later (Kendy)

* UX advise bugs in bugzilla (Stuart) (281 bugs in ux-advice today)

+ recurring topic to be used for UX advise bugs that need action
+ keeps piling up, unfortunately (Stuart)
+ everyone should feel empowered to look at that + act (Stuart)
+ but don't want to be a "gatekeeper" :-) (Stuart)
+ for the moment, Stuart will pick 5 for each meeting - the most burning ones (Kendy)
+ and let's see how it develops (Kendy)

* Uncluttering Impress/Draw default view and stop toolbars from poping up and hiding (Jay)

+ With 3 default toolbars (2 on top and 1 down), view tabs area, and two sidebars on the left
and right, the default UI
of impress is very cluttered, which reduces the available space users have for the slide. I'd
have proposed means of
reducing the clutter, so that more space can be available to the slide.

+ Disable object, image and text toolbars - https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=87676
+ Move view tabs to left slide sidebar - https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=87672
+ at the top, we have the View tab - proposal to move to the slide pane on the left (Jay)
+ they are tabs - but when you set one, the entire view changes, and the tabs
          jump in various directions (Kendy)
+ looks indeed that it should be done a different way (Kendy)
AI: + could become an advanced Easy Hack - check the code there (Kendy)
AI: + will create a mockup (Jay)
+ Add media playback features to sidebar, so its toolbar can be disabled -
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=87794
+ is it possible to position the toolbar exactly? (Jay)
+ not sure - but should be reasonably easy (Kendy)
+ would be great to have that floating - and show always below the media that was clicked
(Jay)
+ floating without that position wouldn't be good (Kendy)
+ but with the right positioning - sounds good (Kendy)
+ jumping is not good in general (Heiko)
+ if anything - sidebar would be better (Heiko)
                + agree (Kendy)
+ would be better to get rid of the controls completely, maybe? (Heiko)
+ currently you select by clicking
AI: + check how the sliders in the Audio/Video toolbar are implemented (Kendy)
+ Slightly reduce the default sizes of the right and left sidebars
+ Do not hide slide pane in handout and slide sorter views
+ showing makes no sense with handout and sorter ? (Cor)

+ Slide size at various resolutions with ruler turned off: 1280x760 (60%), 1400x900 (78%),
1920x1080 (100%)

* 4.4 Release Feedback (Jay)

+ Many users didnt know about the sidebar as it was disabled by default
+ Large icons on windows are appreciated - https://twitter.com/oberzio/status/564086136797413380
+ Missed opportunity in announcement to promote the templates and its ongoing competition
+ Incorrect wording of 'redesign' of toolbar, etc. in announcement caused quite a fuss
+ Mixed bag about the Sifr icons, but brought more awareness of its existence
https://twitter.com/NoSheds/status/560951866872590336 (down) (this user wasnt happy about it)
this was my reply to the user - https://twitter.com/jphilipz/status/561068904596783104
      https://twitter.com/_redviper_/status/565809773829181440/photo/1
+ People do like the new toolbar - https://twitter.com/wood5y/status/569491344806305792/photo/1
+ people who have modified their toolbars arent seeing the new version, so it maybe useful to
have
4.5 as 5.0 so the profile is in a new folder and alot of ui/ux polish will be coming in that
release
+ how much does that offend people? :-) (Kendy)
+ what about an info bar - when they fiddled with the toolbar, present that? (Kendy)
+ related issue https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=43489 (and prolly more)
+ would be great to have promotional videos that show the new features (Heiko/Cor)
          or slides cf.

      mockup: https://bug-attachments.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=113635
      old: http://i.imgur.com/N7sIVkr.png

+ not a completely trivial task (not just moving the buttons around),
needs some changes in the functionality unfortunately too (Jay)
+ would be good to have a discussion on the proposal (Heiko)
