I use LO only. I had an idea for the Writer UI - am sharing below:

If the rulers on the Writer UI were transparent by either a default amount
or thru a setting, it would:
1. enable better click-and-drag adjustments to the tabs since one would see
the text under it - this will be particularly useful when working on a table
with 2 or more levels of bullets.
2. actually increase screen real estate by a bit
3. look pretty cool :)
