Hi Hajo, all,

Hi all,

i was advised to also contact this mailing list so the bug report gets
attention from people like you.

Thanks for pointing us there.

My suggestion is to remove all menu entries like "Calc", "Impress"
etc. but "LibreOffice". [1]
I would like to know what the usability experts have to say about this
suggestion.
In several books you can read that the (total!) number of menu items
should not exceed five or six items because it depends on the
shortterm memory.

My personal attitude is similar - we discussed it at one of the OpenOffice.org mailing lists last year.

But as this topic doesn't seem to be very urgent at the moment, I'd like to ask you, if you could wait another few weeks for a more detailed reply?

Most of us spend as much time as they can in the development of an initial set of desktop icons for LibreOffice, that might be included in the final version of LibO 3.3.0 (the third Release Candidate has just been announced).

I can't take the time to comment your proposal in an appropriate way, and others might feel similar.

If we don't start this topic soon after the release - would you send us a reminder?

Best regards

Bernhard
