descomprime el archivo primero que nada.
tar.xgz jre-7-linux-i586.tar.gz
revisa el archivo readme que biene con el paquete.
generalmente tienes que hacer lo siguiente:
./configure
make
make install
tambien puede que el paquete tenga el script, en ese caso escribes sh
install y eso es todo.
