[libreoffice-website] Table Questin

Help: I have had libreoffice for a couple of years, and I use the table function often. I had no issues to lately. When I go to insert table, and select the number of rows and columns, as I always have with no issue, and select insert, nothing happens. My screen just stays blank, and I get no indication of any kind to explain why the table insert did not work. I am not a software expert. But, I thought I inadvertently did something to cause this issue. Any help with this will bed appreciated.
