Hi,
so, a quick update on what happened so far:
Today, I have setup the new/additional web server host together with
Christian (thanks a lot!). Christian (even more thanks!) had the good
idea to first to some benchmarking to see how things perform on this
beast (big CPU, lots of RAM, SSD in RAID, ...) - and to our bad
surprise, the same problems occur: After a certain amount of concurrent
connections, everything is extremely slow.
It seems this is now the time to finally begin switching to nginx,
outperforming our current software quite a tad. ;-) I'll follow-up with
details soon, but I plan to either do this during the weekend or early
next week. It's an ideal testbed to start with, without moving all
services at once.
Florian
