       the folder, to which I was referring, is the folder where you saved
the downloaded program;
          this is the last thing to close before installing the program.

       Sounds as if you downloaded/partially downloaded a corrupted file
for whatever reason;
          delete.
       Then re-download the program -
          and while it is downloading - saved to wherever (as the Download
folder) - do not use your machine;
         take a break for those few minutes.

       For the same(?) reason programs like to be alone when installing,
they tend to download better that way as well ;-)

       Hoping this helps,

there is no folder to close, when i click on the file the message
immediately pops up say-- windows installer-- this installation package
could not be opened. verify that the package exists and that you can access
it, or contact the application vendor and verify this is a valid windows
installer package.
 use ccleaner on a regular basis. i use avast free version and run it
regularly as well.

    Suggestion:

(1) when you download, save to wherever - as the Download folder;
(2) close all opened programs;
(3) go to saved file;
(4) close folder, after clicking to install file;
(5) follow the instructions, as they come forth during the installation;
(6) Voila ... the program should be now ready for your use.

 If not, then try emptying the cache - as with CCleaner

 If still not, then make sure the machine has not somehow picked up some
virus,

 Hoping this helps,
