I think it is worth backing-up your user-profile before upgrading.  Unlikely things do go wrong occasionally

The trick is to make it work in your favour.  If you do make a back-up the chances are you wont ever need it and will have wasted your time.  If you don't back-up then chances are you will regret that and have to waste the next chunk of time fixing things.

After upgrading to LibreOffice 3.5 from 3.4 in Mac OS X 10.6.8, I noticed
that all of my installed extensions disappered, and I had to re-download and
re-install each manually.

Is this a known phenomenon? Or did I do something wrong? I would like to
make sure that I won't have to go through this process again when
LibreOffice 3.6 is released.
