Perhaps I'm missing the picture, but when I install culmus fonts (from
my distro Ubuntu - culmus and culmus-fancy) I get:

$ ls /usr/share/fonts/truetype/culmus

DavidCLM-Bold.ttf              MiriamMonoCLM-Bold.ttf

Those fonts show up just fine for me in LO
