Just so that you all know, the engineering committe decided that legacy
filter _export_ support for the old StarOffice formats (SXS, SXW, SXD,
etc) would be phased out in the current 3.5 development tree (in fact, I
think it has already been deactivated).

As far as I understand it, only the binary formats will be disabled for writing. That's the file format from StarOffice5.2 with file extensions like sdw.

The SX* formats are packages with content.xml and styles.xml, similar to the ODF format.
