It looks like this is the same problem as mentioned in your second link, and
the solution is more or 
less the same.

Instead of commenting out a whole block of code, the removal (via commenting
out) of two lines in 
/opt/libreoffice/program/soffice does the trick.

The lines commented out are:

# SAL_ENABLE_FILE_LOCKING=1
# export SAL_ENABLE_FILE_LOCKING

They are almost on top of the file.
