There was code in the old template manager for remote repositories but 
it was broken and fixing it wouldnt have had a good result as rendering 
template previews from a remote server would be slow, so the decision 
was made to leave the selection of templates from remote servers to the 
remote file dialog. If remote repositories are mounted and accessible 
locally, then it is possible to list their templates in the manager.

We dont have multilevel hierarchy for template categories/folders and 
the GSoC student and his mentor mentioned there was a problem in the 
design and that this couldnt be solved.

The focus of the template manager is browsing, filtering and selection, 
as management of categories/folders wouldnt be a regular occurrence 
every time the dialog is opened.

The only thing i can see in the mockup that would likely be useful is 
the ability of filtering templates by their template paths.
