Sure, in fact, I don't particularly have an issue for myself, as long as
I can understand what is going on, and I personally actually quite like
the current UI design and functionality better than the previous
embodiment, so kudos to the GSOC project and developers for making it
happen. It just takes some getting used to and of course, a link
explaining how all of this now works would be most handy. If such a link
has already been provided, then fair enough.

On the other hand, obliging business users to change their years-old
workflow to suit the new UI-design paradigm is a big ask, IMHO, and
probably one that most would be disinclined to follow, hence no doubt,
the questions and bug reports raised. Whilst I might agree with you that
potentially affected users could (should) have been implicated from the
start, the fact of the matter is that GSOC projects are not at the heart
of most people's minds when considering evolutions to the LibreOffice
product, which might explain why such considerations weren't raised
during pre-design discussion.
