I'm not exactly sure if this would be possible. To make sure that only a
single remote can control the presentation and that it's the presenter's
remote, the remote has to generate some kind of code that you could enter
into LibreOffice to make it possible to control. Therefore, the remote
can't automatically connect to the software.

That's part of the design.

That's what the slide picker is for.

I agree, but it's a bit too late with this project, as the deadline is this
I'll try to draft a proposal of how to best incorporate these artifacts
into our workflow and how to make sure that our artifacts really reflect
our users (a bit of social networking might help there).
