I didn't know where to add it, but discussions of the icons themselves should go on the wiki 
page somewhere. 

MediaWiki developers thought of that, and created the talk pages. :-) 

I agree. Maybe discussions on the mailing list, but why not collect arguments on the wiki talk 
page: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Talk:Design/Whiteboards/Flat_icon_set

I'd love to see use of that page, because it might help us archive the key arguments of the ongoing 
discussion. That will be helpful when missing some mailing list stuff or not wanting to re-read 50 
mails just to jump on a certain topic.

What do you think?
